No one wants to see that type of end to a leadership training program. This means there must be something lacking which is leading to failure.

Being the business owner settled in Dubai you might not be able to see why your leadership training is not providing the same positive results as they used to or what is expected of them.

There is no use to spend the resources if they are not fruitful.

Without a further due let’s just discuss the elephant in the room which is the common mistakes for leadership training failure.

Not contextualizing:

One of the biggest mistakes most managers make is that they do not adopt the context for the training. Leadership is highly dependent on the context which means one might be the best in one situation or context and does not perform well in another.

When you are up for leadership skills training then overlooking context can be a reason for failure. Also, when you are training employees for your Dubai office then do give examples or situations from the city or relevant.

When it comes to leadership training in Dubai there is no one size fits all. Each training even in the same city will vary because of different organizational goals and visions.

Give real-life examples:

No one likes to suppose and stick to the hypothetical examples. When you are training, then you need to bring the cases with which participants can relate.

However, this is missing in most leadership training. If you are giving an example from another region, then participants cannot implement in their workplace. That is why we often say there is no improvement.

It is because we have not provided anything which they can actually use.

Not engaging participants:

Training is different from regular lectures so treat them that way.

Do not let your participants sit there idly or else they will be snoozing after a while. Ask them questions, perform activities and lastly help them stay active.

Lectures are boring, and people usually do not learn from them. Being a trainer, it is your duty to make the training as engaging and interesting as you can.

Understanding the root cause of training failure:

When you have conducted training, then it is your chance to reflect on what when wrong.

You will reach the root cause of the training elements and would know what was not working in that scenario.

Often companies do not bother to dig deeper to understand how they can avoid these issues in the next session.

Leadership training sessions are essential for growth and development, but with few mistakes, they can be a total failure. Consider the points mentioned in the article to dodge the failure.
